4th of July Tourney Schedule Posted
The 2009 4th of July ShootOut Tourney Schedule has been posted to the web site. This is a tentative schedule and was sent to us on 6/30/2009. We appreciate the Tournament Director, Kathleen Burns, for her getting us the schedule early so we can notify our athletes, coaches, parents & fans in a timely fashion.

Grandma's Photo

A number of grandparents, having a vested interest in the KO athletes, also like to participate in a variety of ways. One of theses special fans, JoAnn Fox, captured the team together at the CDA tourney and took this photo. Thanks to Amanda's grandma!!

Knockouts Finish 2nd in Selah
The Knockouts managed to keep every game close, whether leading or trailing on the scoreboard. The KOs finished 2-1 at the conclusion of the first day earning a #3 seed for Gold Bracket play on Sunday. With one run wins in the first two rounds on Sunday, the KOs fell short in the championship to a Spokane Stealth team that was locked and loaded. The KOs ended 4-2 in the tournament that drew teams from both Oregon and Washington.

Is That Your Tatoo?

After tournament time one evening in Selah, WA, the athletes had a relatively harmless time out late enjoying themselves, with parents in tow. These tatoos are likely to last forever (or whenever the athletes take a shower). We weren't able to get a photo of all those arms, but a few escaped the camera. Have a look. read more...

Xplosion and Knockouts Did Neither
The Xplosion didn't explode and the Knockouts didn't knock anyone out. Both teams were in the game to win and all pitchers kept the other team from racking up runs. But it was the Knockouts who came out on top by sweeping the 18U Xplosion in two staright games: 3-1 and 3-1. Knockout pitchers stood tall in the circle and fired strikes while the defense backed them up.
